Course Facts
Golf Club: The Pines at Elizabeth City is a semi-private golf club owned by The Pines LLC.Bill M. Taylor is the sole owner.
Location: In Elizabeth City, North Carolina approximately 30 minutes south of Chesapeake, Virginia.
Golf Course Architect: Originally Fred Findlay in 1946. Tom Clark of Ault, Clark and Associates designed the renovation.
Yardage: Par 72, with four sets of tees ranging from 5,101 to 7,017.
Grasses: Greens have been rebuilt to USGA specification and boast A1/A4 bent grass. Tees and fairways feature a new hybrid of Bermuda grass, which is more heat resistant.
Course Description: The course winds through the Albemarle pine thickets and features small, elevated greens, wide fairways and large chipping areas. All sand bunkers are new and lined to protect from erosion and discoloration. The practice facilities have also been completely renovated and feature target greens, fairways, chipping areas and putting green. Click here for a detailed description of each hole.
Key Features: 4 skill-testing Par 3’s and 4 risk-reward Par 5’s.Pro Shop including Professional Instruction.
Clubhouse: The Clubhouse currently features grille and lounge with outdoor seating, Members-only lounge, dining room, men’s and ladies’ locker facilities, well-stocked pro shop and banquet facilities.
